California Native Plant Consultant

Let Twila help you select regional native plants to create beautiful, regenerative, water-wise landscapes that support local pollinators and other wildlife.

Twila Newey is a Certified California Naturalist, with particular love for California’s native flora. In addition to four years of in-depth independent study and observation, she’s volunteered at the Willis Jepson CPNS Nursery and interned at The Watershed Nursery in Richmond, CA. She has apprenticed as the Interim Head Gardener at Larner Seed Demonstration Garden for the past 18 months.

Twila offers private consultations for home gardens, school, and community gardens, using a plant community/regional habitat garden approach. She’s also available for talks on gathering, cleaning, storing, and sowing California native seeds.

“California’s native flora are so intelligent, gorgeous, and such a pleasure to work with. These plants have been doing their work for eons. They are uniquely adapted to specific microclimates created by the soils, seasons, and weather of this place. It’s a joy for me to help people bring a bit of that wild beauty home to their gardens.”1
